In a situation that is sure to measure the temperature of Christianity, an openly homosexual singer tops the so-called Christian music charts. Many churches have been accepting the homosexual and LGBTQ agenda. Instead of warning people of their sin and its consequences, most churches are moving to the globalist mantra of love, tolerance, and coexistence, but at what cost? The souls and eternal lives of countless millions. At one time, this new emergent church movement was confined to denominations such as the Methodists, but now includes Baptists and others. This new anti-Christ lukewarm church is heading for hell and they don’t even know it. When on an overseas trip to the Philippines, we spoke to some Christians and they said the United States and western cultures, in general, were the real mission fields. That struck me as odd, as I’d never entertained the idea that the U.S. needed to be told the Gospel. Boy was I wrong, what an eye-opening moment, they are absolutely right.
So where does all of this leave us? God’s Word tells us that we need to examine ourselves to make sure we are actually Christians.
2 Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Examining ourselves is one of the most difficult things we can do, but is absolutely necessary to salvation. Without the ability to honestly introspect, we have to take into consideration that the Holy Spirit is not residing in us. That leaves us in a bad place, risking our lives to hell for all eternity. Without the Holy Spirit, how can we truly and honestly examine ourselves and our faults? It takes the Lord to make us recognize our sin, admit to it, confess it, and turn from it to focus on Him.
When people accept their sin as normal, promote their sin (ANY SIN, not just homosexuality), are comfortable living in their sin, do not fight their sinful nature, and instead glory in sin, Jesus Christ is NOT in that person. Those people are living a lie, and the Holy Spirit is not in them. They are not Christian, and if they influence you, you need to run away from it as quickly as possible.
The term Christian is used so loosely now, that the majority of American’s, and possibly others around the world, identify as one in one way or another. The only way for a person to truly know that the living God is within them and that they are a born again believer filled with the Holy Spirit is to read the Word of God for themselves and pray. As we ask anyone who visits this site:
Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
If you are not getting stirred by these things, and want to hear some hard truth, please prayerfully watch and consider the following video by Pastor Charles Lawson.
Hebrews 10:23-25 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
